What is "podcasting?"
In addition to "Broadcasting" people are creating an MP3 (audio) file of their radio programs and making it available for others to download for free from the Internet. This allows the person downloading the file to listen to the show at their convenience.
The term "pod" in “podcasting,” comes from the fact that the iPOD is the mobile MP3 player that a large number of people use to listen to MP3 files.
So “podcasting” is subscribing to audio programs that you can listen to WHEN and WHERE you want to via a downloaded MP3 file.
Why should I podcast?
Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness." Subscribing to the Sunday Message Podcast from Exeter Bible Church allows you to listen a second time to a service you've attended. Once you've subscribed to the podcast, if you happen to miss a service, your computer will automatically download it, thus allowing you to stay abreast of all the teachings.
Downloading the podcasts will also allow you to create a library of teachings for your personal Bible study and quiet time.
Our hope is that you will grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18)
EBC Podcasting Subscription Instructions:
1. The computer you are viewing this web page with can be used to listen to our MP3 (audio) files. You should already have software installed capable of playing MP3 files . You can install iTunes, Window's Media Player or any other MP3 player software. If you have a mobile MP3 player, such as an iPod, then you can even take the MP3 podcast files with you!
2. It is easy to automatically receive our Sunday Message Podcasts. Simply install a program to handle Podcasting. There are several programs out there that can handle this feature for you. iTunes is one we recommend. This free program will automatically check for new available services & notes and download them for you.
3. Simply click the subscribe button on the right side of this page. It will immediately take you to the Podcast section of the iTunes music store. Then click "Subscribe".
